Every year my dad gets a traditional metal popcorn tin from someone. He loves snacks, so its the perfect gift for him. The only issue is after you break the seal and open the tin, the popcorn eventually gets stale if you don't eat it fast enough. Then you have to dispose of the tin itself. Our trip to Devine Acres Farm

My family and I were invited to visit a local farm, Devine Acres, to have breakfast with Santa and to do some exploring over the weekend. Its about 2 hours from our home, but we made the trek with 3 kids under age 3! The first thing that i noticed was how organized the production was. Once we had our tickets, they directed us to Emily's Wooded Spoon (the name of the kitchen), where we picked up our fresh made pancake breakfast and headed to the mess hall.

After finding our seats, one of Santa's elves took our drink order while we marveled over the beautifully decorated workshop.  My 3 year old could barely eat his breakfast because he was too busy enjoying the live Christmas music! The elves took good care of us, making sure our drinks were filled and that all other needs were met, which was beyond what i expected! As we were finishing up, Mrs.Claus started story time on the stage, but we had to pass because our kids were anxious to hit the ground running! Which is also why we skipped pictures with Santa.

Gold Mining and Duck Races

Outside is where the fun began. There were so many different things to do, the kids couldn't get to them fast enough! So we headed for the closest thing, which was Duck Races. It turned out to be a bunch of metal shutes with water well pumps on the ends. Pump the well and the water sends your rubber ducky sailing down the shute, hopefully faster than the one next to you! My 3 year old son and 2 year old niece LOVED it! They had no interest in racing, they simply loved the fact that they could propel their duck with the water they pumped! After 10 minutes of Duck Racing, we pried them away against their will to the next closest thing, which just happened to be the Hay Ride.

While waiting for the next tractor to pick us up, we took some silly pictures and petted the near by goats to pass the 5 minutes or so we had to wait. Oh, i forgot to mention that they offer cut-your-own Christmas Trees. The Hay Ride pick up was also next to the tree processing station, so after the goats became uninteresting the kids watched the trees being shook and baled. They got such a kick out of watching the trees on the shaker!

Giant Spider Web

Once on the Hay Ride, we took a tour of the farm which revealed the mother load of activities along with some interesting facts about Christmas trees and the farm itself! Among the list of things i can remember was Marshmallow Roasting, Fishing, several different mazes, a giant spider web, bowling, a gold mining station, sack races and a HUGE park like area!

After our ride, we went bowling and then to the Hay Maze. My son really likes figuring things out so we had to do the maze until he had it memorized, which only took him a few times! We attempted the giant spider web, but they spotted the playground at that point so off we went to explore some more. The play area, or Gopher Grove as they called it was pretty amazing. Once again the amount of activities blew me away. The best part though, in my opinion, was the space between each event. Even if the park was overcrowded, it would not seem that way because they have everything perfectly spaced out. By perfectly, i mean far enough to give space but not so far that you have to be an Olympian to keep up with 3 kids running in all directions. I'm going to let the pictures tell you the rest because i feel my description does not to it justice!

When the kids started to wind down, we headed to the car to avoid mass meltdowns, but our experience at Devine Acres Farm was phenomenal! Thank you Devine Acres Farms for inviting us to spend the day with you! Your staff was courteous and efficient making everything run smoothly! We will be back for sure!!
